Nutrition for Digestive and other disorders

Core Philosophy:

I describe myself as a preventative and qualitarian root cause  nutritionist. I take a comprehensive look at all aspects of your life ( physical, emotional, social, spiritual) to help understand how we can collectively come up with recommendations that will get you started on your goals to improved health using specialized nutrition lab testing and referring to other practitioners to become part of your health team. I think of myself as a patient advocate, my goal as a functional nutritionist is to educate the patient so they can show up for themselves, empower and elevate them at the top of the healthcare, emotional and spiritual hierarchy. I am not here to tell you what you should do, but rather will educate, inform and hopefully inspire you to eat the foods that are right for your body starting with steps for which you are ready. I will support and encourage you to make changes that are realistic and beneficial for your health.

The key to achieving optimal wellness is to address the root causes of your poor health... not just your symptoms... and this requires a thorough understanding of your unique physical, emotional and spiritual body chemistry. I can customize a plan that fits your body's unique needs, with the help of specialized functional nutrition lab testing, shamanic , meditation, sound therapy, herbal therapy  tools. Knowledge is power, you will not only learn a new paradigm of self healing, I will also learn from you, it will be an honor to guide you in your self healing journey.

My Journey:

The turning point came in winter of 2004, when I was diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency, hypothyrodism, dysbiosis, IBS, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome after living 12 winters in Alaska . I started amplifying my nutrition and also receiving regular homeopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture treatments to alleviate some of the symptoms. I feel so blessed and grateful to have encountered these wonderful healers and teachers that marked the path to where I am today. But it wasn’t until I stumbled across the Food As Medicine conference that I felt really empowered to open my functional nutrition practice. Since then, I have passionately gained additional knowledge in methyl genetic nutrition, and understanding how our digestive and detoxification systems work . In the Fall of 2013, eager to learn more and help others and my family heal from their digestive disorders, I became a certified GAPS provider.

I realized I could heal myself… but only with complete dedication ,determination patience and valuable information provided by specialized labs and genetic testing. The most important change I made was moving to a place where I could sunbathe daily and I could grow my own food year around.

Within a couple of weeks, my symptoms had improved and my body got stronger each day. In the past 7  years I learned to battle a systemic parasitic infection,SIBO and Lyme disease, which explained some of the root causes of my digestive issues. I have also started learning how to use energy and spiritual medicine  to heal beyond the physical realm. I have since established rapport with other alternative health care providers and often work side by side with them and my client . I’m passionate about encouraging others to use these tools, because I’ve seen the results first-hand.

Well, that’s a short summary of where I am at this time. I’m constantly learning from colleagues and my patients about the amazing healing capabilities of the human mind, body and spirit.

My Healing Regimen:

Currently, I use a whole food based approach, with dietary protocols which maintain a balanced micro and myco biome, using fresh organic vegetables and herbs from my garden and from the local farmer's  markets. I also incorporate nutritional supplements, essential oils, herbal and homeopathic remedies. For mind-and-body healing, I practice meditation, Yin and Gentle yoga for relaxation , utilize Energy Medicine techniques, shamanic practices, Reiki , Sound Therapy, Tuning forks and practice DNRS, EBT and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Another important aspect for improving my wellness is acupuncture, I use it to strengthen my immune system. I also sunbathe daily and ecologize my home and use personal products that do not increase the toxic burden on myself and my family .

Most importantly, I seek spiritual healing from God through nature walks with my dogs , it is he who continually guides me to make the right choices.
